AVOID OVER-TIGHTENING SCREWS! Due to the painted finish, over-tightening may cause the screws to lose their coating. Even screws from large retail stores will encounter the same problem as white screws can merely be painted rather than electroplated because of the manufacturing method. Ensure the screws are properly fitted before securing them and handle with caution (again, to prevent damaging the paint while fastening). You may utilize a piece of tape, soft fabric, or even tissue paper to shield the end of the screwdriver, and then gently secure the screws. For toggle switch and duplex outlet cover wall plates, we use screws that are 3/4″ long. For rocker switch/GFCI receptacle wall plates, we utilize screws that are 3/8″ long.
